Writing

She has written three full length pieces of musical theatre and had runs on the London Fringe: her first play Clara at Noon was a winning script at the 2017 Kenneth Branagh Drama Writing Awards and she won the 2018 Pitch Your Play scheme at Theatre Royal Haymarket with Penny’s From Huddersfield.  A member of the Liverpool Royal Court Development Scheme in 2020, Wendy is excited to see her commissioned work, Hey Bunny Get Loose, debuted there in May 2022.  

Composing

Wendy has a growing portfolio of commissioned chamber, choral and orchestral works, and she was the runner up for both the 2017 PROJECT Trio Composition Competition and 2018 Bass Europe Lucca Composition Competition.  She has also written three full length musicals including Knowledge By Degrees which was most recently featured as part of the Wirral Arts Festival 2019.

Musical Direction

Wendy has worked as a freelance MD across the UK for over 10 years. Upcoming projects include Made in Dagenham in April 2022 for Bentley Operatic, and Me and My Girl in Storyhouse, Chester for Chester Operatic in June 2022. She has also worked as a choral trainer and singing teacher working for Stagecoach Performing Arts. MainStage experienced.

Bacchus Quartet

Wendy is the Manager and lead violinist of the Bacchus Quartet. Bacchus Quartet frequently appear on concert stages in Liverpool and Manchester and are also available to hire for functions such as weddings and corporate events. Please get in touch to find out more.
